Frunzenskaya Embankment – Smolenskaya

From western walls of the Kremlin many centuries ago there was a road leading to ancient town of Smolensk. Only a small section of this road preserved its name till today. Smolenskaya street goes from Smolenskaya square, located on the Garden ring, towards Borodinsky bridge and Kievsky railway station, located beyond the Moskva-river. The district, which has the same name, has quality Stalin period buildings, brick buildings of the 80-s of last century and also modern residential complexes. Many apartments on top-floors have beautiful panoramic view to the Moskva-river and sunset.
In Smolenskaya square the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is located. Some years ago the Embassy of Great Britain moved to Smolenskaya embankment.

Frunzenskaya Embankment is considered to be one of the most prestigious districs of Moscow too.
It is because of its location on the curve of Moscow river banks with beautiful river-sides green boulevards and wide-open yards. Quality stalin-era buildings surrounded by the superb infrastructure is the reason for popularity among Moskovites and Expatriates.
The name that stuck to the side through the centuries is Hamovniki, the settlement of fabric manufacturers. Up to the 60s this side was actively built and renovated. The side was especially popular among the top men in the Government and the Party as well as art elite of those times. No wonder then that the buildings here were of exclusive quality with good parking lots, spacious rooms and kitchens and of-course with Paradnye entrances (Selebrity entrances).
The side is literally immersed into a green of the parks and woods. A smart pedestrian bridge across the river will bring you to even more parks and woods: Neskuchny Sad, Park Kultyry and Vorobievy Gory (Mounts).
Close to Frunzenskaya metro there is a Palace of the Moscow Youth behind which there is yet another park: by the name of Mandelshtam.
Frunzenskaya Embankment is ideal for the families with kids and not only them…
Minutes of walking distance to the Garden and Boulevard rings, Kropotkinskaya, Smolenskaya, Arbat. And if you follow the embankment walks, some minutes of walking along the bank will bring you to Zamoskvorechie or back to South-Western districts near the Moscow University. Walking towards it the numerous cafes, restaurants, shops and supermarkets as one called ‘Azbuka Vkusa’ It seems the side is ideal for those who value time. That is why the side is becoming more attractive to domestic and foreign corporate businessmen.
The side attached to m. Sportivnaya is across the river from Vorobievy Gory, where rive makes a curve and runs NE towards the Kremlin. It is the place where the Novodevichiy monastery is located along with Bolshoi Novodevichiy Pond and Park. This is the favorite place for residents and people cross the city for walking around.
Here, where the bank inclusion makes a semi-circle between the Luzhnetskaya Embankment and Novoluzhnetskiy lane, the famous Luzhniki stadium and sport complexes are located.
In this place the rent is much cheaper than in Frunzenskaya area of the side, as the buildings are less prestigious and cohesive with each other’s style. Having said that, all the privileges of the Frunzenskaya side are open for enjoyment to those who live in Luzhniki.
